What symptoms can be resolved by Cranberry Headache & Migraine Relief Center ?
Many types of symptoms associated with neuromuscular force problems can be controlled or completely resolved with treatment. Imbalanced dental forces within the head, neck, teeth and TMJs can be caused by such things as badly executed dental work, poor work posture, traumatic accidents to the head, neck or face, and other conditions. Our treatments are designed to mitigate pain caused by any of the above conditions and rehabilitate you for the long-term.
What should I expect for the initial diagnostic exam?
You should expect to finally get direct answers about the state of your neuromuscular forces, as well as a clear indication from the doctor about what specific force dysfunctions are causing you to experience pain. We provide objective information backed by comprehensive diagnostic measurements and testing. If you have force problems working to keep you in pain, we can tell you and explain all relevant treatments that should be used to get you well. Only a neuromuscular dentist can provide you with diagnostic intel of this nature.
Your first exam will last about 60 to 90 minutes, and every minute you spend with us is valuable. What we determine on this day allows us to tell you if you are a candidate for treatment, and if you are it is GOOD NEWS. It means that what we do here can help you! A customized treatment protocol that is uniquely tailored to your condition(s) can be mapped out and thoroughly explained at the time of diagnosis.
What do you need to know about the diagnostic process?
The diagnostic process involves a computerized measurement of the forces inside your mouth on a tooth by tooth basis Also, we take measurements of muscle movement disability to determine limitations to your range of motion. With these painless tests we will see problem areas that cause you pain.
The rest of your examination allows Dr. Robison to locate other problem areas related to the health of your mouth, your facial, head and neck muscle health, as well as any tooth related issues that may be present.
The diagnostic experience is revealing. You will finally be receiving a proper diagnosis from a uniquely qualified care provider who understands neuromuscular forces and their relationship to headaches, migraines, TMJ, tension and other pain manifestations. Most physicians do not have the kind of diagnostic capabilities we have at our disposal.
Are all visits to Cranberry Headache & Migraine Relief Center going to be an hour and a half long?
No. The initial diagnostic visit is longer. Normal treatment visits are 50 minutes to 1 hour for most patients.
How does treatment work at Cranberry Headache & Migraine Relief Center?
Once an exhaustive diagnostic exam reveals what is happening within you, Cranberry Headache & Migraine Relief Center builds a personalized rehabilitation plan that is designed to produce lasting pain relief by eliminating the root causes underlying your condition.
Treatments are delivered by Dr. Robison and his Dentomandibular Rehabilitation Technicians (DMRTs). Treatments and protocols used draw from the field of advanced sports medicine.
Treatments are drug-free and needle-free, and most report the experience of being treated to be stress and anxiety-free — quite relaxing, even!
What can I expect after the first treatment concludes?
Your pain condition and the types of symptoms you experience are unique, and so it depends on many factors. However, most patients begin to experience some immediate pain relief and objective improvement after just a few weeks into their treatment schedule. Additional treatments will provide more pain relief as the neuromuscular forces within you are rehabilitated and equilibrated.
How long does a typical treatment course take?
Typically, a full course of treatment runs about 8 to 12 weeks for the majority of patients who are strong candidates for treatment. It is possible to be pain-free in less than 8 weeks, but most most achieve optimal response to treatment as they approach the 12 week timeframe. However, the type of condition AND it’s unique manifestation within you both impact the rehab timeframe. For example, TMJ or chronic tension patients frequently rehabilitate more quickly than headache and migraine patients. Every patient will be different.
What happens after the in-office treatments end?
At Cranberry Headache & Migraine Relief Center we provide you with powerful tools for ongoing self-care and treatment at home.
Most patients will be given their own home care “AlphaStim” units, as well as specific instructions for how and when to use this treatment modality at home. As always, when you have questions we are a simple phone call away.
How much does treatment cost? Does treatment cost vary?
It depends entirely upon the treatment needs of each individual patient and the nature of their specific insurance plan.
In general, treatment costs will vary — some or all of which could be reimbursable through your own health insurance coverage. If you have a health insurance plan, we will run through a comprehensive pre-authorization procedure with the insurance company in advance of treatment delivery. As a courtesy to you, we bill your insurance carrier in a timely manner so long as you have medical insurance benefits. When needed, we also provide carriers with supporting documentation to help you secure the maximum allowable reimbursement in accordance with your specific plan.
How much will my insurance cover?
We perform a benefits estimation check for you at the time of pre-authorization. While many patients are able to successfully obtain some health insurance coverage for their diagnostic procedures and treatment visits, there will likely still be some out-of-pocket responsibility. The procedure types and amounts covered also tend to vary greatly from one insurance plan to the next which is why a preauthorization cycle is necessary at the beginning of the treatment process, before treatment is delivered.
We pursue maximum reimbursement with health insurance companies on your behalf. In the past, many patients have been able to successfully obtain varying levels of reimbursement and we will certainly do the best we can for you!
